*IMPORTANT* While this may be confusing, manslaughter and killing are two different things. Manslaughter is when you unintentionally kill a person while doing something considered reckless. For example, playing with your mom's handgun and accidentally shooting your friend. You didn't mean to, but your actions caused the death.
First degree murder, on the other hand is when you intentionally kill someone. It's also known as the capitol offense.
