In general, circulated 5 DM coins from the 1980s and 1990s don't have much extra value. Special commemorative issues are worth about US$6 to US$7, while standard ones are only worth face value, about $2.50 at the time Germany converted to the euro in 2002.
Note that these coins are no longer legal tender in Germany but can be exchanged for euros at some larger banks.

In perfect, uncirculated condition, the 1980 5 Deutsche Mark note is worth $9. In Very Fine condition, it is worth $6. In any other, non-collectible condition, it is worth face value - $3.71.
