A Brittany Spainel is a medium sized sporting dog which was mainly bred for bird hunting. They stand about 19 inches tall and weigh between 30 and 40 pounds. The coat is of moderate length, dense, flat, or wavy, with slight feathering on the ears and legs. Although they are normally referred to as spaniels they are more like a pointer or a setter. Their color is normally white with orange patches or white with liver patches. They are easy to train and sweet-tempered making them a good house pet.
If you're hunting birds, yes, because they point and retrieve excellently and they are incredibly trainable. They are good companions, too.

They run after a shot duck, and bring it back to the owner unharmed.
Yes, both the Brittany Spaniel and Brittany refer to the same breed of dog.
At first, the Brittany's original name was the Brittany Spaniel. Then, the Brittany wasn't thought to really be a spaniel dog so they shortened it to just the Brittany, which is it's current official name. Hope this Helped!
