There can be some disadvantages to owning an American Staffordshire Terrier. Also known as American Pit Bulls, these dogs are strong and powerful and need a lot of attention, training, and exercise. They also have an inaccurate reputation for being overly aggressive and mean. This reputation could cause friends and strangers alike to be very nervous around the dog.
