The gospel is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God that came to Earth as God in the flesh to die on a cross for all of man's sins, and haveing done that, rose from the dead the third day to ascend into heaven never to die again and that all who believe this, receives this Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour will also be granted eternal life. The sharing of this gospel message with others is the principal purpose of any true evangelistic ministry, and the point of any true evangelistic ministry. This is done through many avenues: Prison ministry, helping the homeless or thru homeless shelters, new visitors to the church visits, training in discipleship etc.
