God is a bully.

He only presents Himself as male to humiliate women.

These are negative perspectives. In fact; there has been a lot of dispute over the interpreted gender of the Greek/Hebrew/Chaldean rendering of the Holy Spirit.

First it was thought to be female. Then male. Then bi sexed.

It is true, that of the Father, He is always rendered in the male, excepting El Shaddai (the breasted one), for obvious reasons.

In the beginning, God said: In the image of God, made He THEM.

Therefore, God must be in the image of male and female.

Whether we ascribe femininity to the Father's form, one thing is undisputed, namely that there is a feminish Anointing, for; were there not, then the Holy Spirit attributes should not have enough leverage through hormones enough to manifest all of God's characteristics, both male and female.

But, if we are allowed to carry on with the Christian God in consideration to the question: The Bible says that God is good. That it is impossible for Him to sin.

Now; that being so, therefore He has the exact same care over women as He does men, and any social value system which fundamentally or sinfully undermines women's place in society, God would be against.

In this much; God is on the side of the feminist.

On the other hand, if the feminist movement was (and is) being used merely to attempt to supplant or usurp men, or else to attempt to make a right out of two wrongs, then God is against that.

Many feminists have wrote on the evils of some religions seeming hatred and/or emasculation of women. Some of it is true. And some of it is just a excuse to rustle up more power and rights than is due them.

It is also not impossible that men and women are not created equally (certainly, they are not the exact self same...) but that God mediates these differences through grace (God's undeserving, though not unmerited in this case; favor...).

A look back through history does indeed seem to show an age where women were treat with contempt in all cultures (some, still so), but then; who could argue that it wasn't much fun if you were a barbarian trying to defeat a trained roman army by throwing sticks and stones at them... Hmm...

Should Shinto be considered a valid religion even though it seems to be more of a patriotic perspective than a spiritual quest?

It would be wrong not to consider Shinotism a valid form of religion because it may not correspond to our preconceived ideas about what a religion should be. Judaism is ocnsidered a valid religion, although the Hebrew Bible demosntrates a patriotic perspective at least as great as the religious perspective.
