The group of seven was a group of Canadian painters from the 1920s and 1930s who came to the forefront of Canadian art for their well known landscape works, highly influenced by impressionism.

The group of seven had two main points: one was the beauty of the Canadian landscape, but the other was the support of Canadian art. It seems likely they would have still been famous even if they were painting famous Canadians rather than landscapes.
