You would celebrate your birthday on the same day as every other year. So if you were born on the 19th of November in a leap year, then you would celebrate your birthday on the 19th of November in all other years too. The only issue is with someone who is born on the 29th of February. It is the only date in a leap year that does not occur in other years. Some people choose to celebrate their birthday on the 28th of February and some choose to celebrate on the 1st of March. It is really an individual decision.

Most people believe that Leaplings (people born on Leap Year Day) have the option of celebrating either on February 28th or March 1st. Often, Leaplings will prefer the most convenient, i.e., on a Friday versus a Thursday. We also believe that our birthday exists, so quit the joke about not having a birthday (it was old by our 9th calendar year). And we do deserve extra special birthday parties in real Leap Years. In reality, there are two analytical options to determine the correct date:

  1. Adding 6 hours to your birth hour every year. For example, if you were born at 8pm on February 29th, the following year would be 2am on the following day, or March 1st. However, this means that most non-Leaplings born after noon are celebrating the wrong birthdays during the last two years of a cycle.
  2. Using a known reference point, e.g., on the last day of February (my preferred method).

If your birthday is NOT on Februray 29th, celebrate on your normal birthdate.

If your birthday is Februrary 29th, you have 2 options.

  1. You can celebrate on the 28th, because your birthday is on the last day of February.
  2. You can celebrate on March 1st, because it's the 60th day of the year normally.

Well a leap year is were ur bday happens every 4 years & ya know how they say a year is 365 days with a leap year added on it's 365 & 1/4th so that's how I know cuz my bdays on leap year !!!!

A leap year birthday (bday) is birthday that falls on the day of February 29th.

February 29th happens once every four years, which is called a "Leap Year".

The last leap year was 2008, the next will be 2012. Year divisible by 4 are usually leap years.

The reason there is a February 29 every four years is because it takes the earth approximately 365.25 days to go around the sun. Every four years that .25 make one whole day (4 x .25 = 1) so they add it to the shortest month, February, to make it have 29 days instead of the usual 28 days. But there are exceptions to the every four year rule since 365.25 is really 365.2425 days around the sun.
