Atrial fibrillation is where the electrical impulses within the atria become very rapid and irregular. Atrial rates are usally between 300- 400 BPM or more. How it can happen: 1) Electric shock 2) ion imbalance within heart cells 3) Re- entry pathway. I am NOT a doctor but I have been studying the heart for many years and the information here is up=to date.
Fibrillation is a medical term and refers to the quivering of a muscle, usually in the heart, as opposed to it contracting properly. Due to uncoordination of the muscle fibrils. Common terms heard are atrial and ventricular fibrillation, the first meaning that the atria of the heart (chamber that fills with blood) is not working well. When ventricular fibrillation occurs, only a small amount of blood is pumped out of the heart. This is the more serious of the two conditions.
Fibrillation is a rapid twitching of any muscle. It occurss most commly in the heart. Atrial fibrillation is where electrical impulses in the atria are rapid and irregular. This causes the atria to twitch rapidly. Atrial fibrillation can causes a reduced amount of blood which fills the ventricles. AT REST people with atrial fibrillation are normal because 70% of ventricular filling is passive. 30% of ventricular filling is by atrial contraction. Ventricular fibrillationVentricular fibrillation is where electrical impulses in the ventricles are very rapid and iregular. The ventricles twich randomly and no ventricular contractions occur. This stops blood from being sent around the body and to the lung. This can lead to death. Fibrillation is VERY rapid irregular and random twitching of any muscle. Heart fibbrilation occurs at heart rates of 300- 600 BPM.
there are 2 kinds of fibrillation atrial fibrillation and ventricular fibrillation. a-fib is manageable with drugs or surgical/electrical interventions and can be either cured or manged for decades. V-fib if a person survives it is very dangerous, and usually only fixed with drugs and a pacemaker/AICD. A-fib is more common.... most people don't survive V-fib unless it happens in a hospital... it can stop your heart in minutes.
abnormal heart rhythms in which the atria, or upper chambers of the heart, are out of sync with the ventricles, or lower chambers of the heart. In atrial fibrillation, the atria "quiver" chaotically and the ventricles beat irregularly

Ventricular fibrillation, and supraventricular or ventricular tachycardia.
Your maximal heart rate is 220 - MINUS your age. In most human their MHR is about 200- 220 BPM. Maximal heart rate is the highest number of times per minuet that you heart could contract during maximal physical exersion. It is unlikely for your heart to go into Fibrillation at heart rates of 200 - 250 BPM. Fibrillation occurs at heart rates of 300- 600 BPM and can be causes by Heart disease Electrical shock Heart attacks Heart Arrhythmia
An atrial fibrillation is a cardiac arrhythmia which involves the upper two chambers of the heart.
The E.K.G. showed his heart was in fibrillation.Fibrillation of the heart muscle means the heart cannot contract effectively. If doctors cannot stop fibrillation, the heart muscle can stop working.
Fibrillation is a medical term meaning an interruption of electrical activities in the heart. The most common types of fibrillation are atrial fibrillation and ventricular relation, termed as AFib and VFib, respectively.

Atrial fibrillation is the medical term meaning the irregular, uncoordinated, ineffective twitching contraction of the walls of the atria. A related condition is ventricular fibrillation, which occurs in the lower chambers of the heart.
A healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of heart diseases which lead to ventricular fibrillation is the best prevention.

The only effective treatment for ventricular fibrillation is defibrillation. Defibrillation is the delivery of a controlled electrical shock to the heart to stop the erratic electrical activity of fibrillation and allow the sinoatrial node to take over pacing the heart normally.
Atrial fibrillation is an irregular heartbeat. Atrial fibrillation has been linked to heart disease and evidence suggests it may be hereditary. Taking measures to lower your heart disease risk are advised. Specifically, don't smoke, get regular exercise and have a healthy diet.
De-fibrillation is the process of converting a nonrhythmic heart beats into a rhythmic heart beats.
