A capital letter is a letter written in upper case. For example, 'A' is the capital letter whereas 'a' is a small letter or in other words, not a capital letter.

It is used in the beginning of every sentence and also to denote a proper noun.

For example, in names of people 'John' ( 'J' is the capital letter) or a place 'England' ('E' is the capital letter) , etc.
