In Season Four the brother's attempt to escape their metaphorical prison. As long as the Company continues to hunt them they will never be free. So, Burrows & Scofield with the returned Sara team up with friends & former enemies & a couple of new faces to find a way to take down The Company from the top.
It's all about 'breaking in' rather than breaking out. Along the way they have losses and gains; they are hunted, betrayed, & shocked as they encounter unexpected evils hiding behind The Company's secrecy & its plans for the mysterious Scylla.

The season 4 DVD set will be released on Jun 2 in the US and on Jul 6 in the UK. Most other countries that have completed the airing of season 4 should also have the DVD available sometime this summer.

It was not renewed for a 5th season. So far only 16 episodes have aired. The final episode will complete the 22 episodes initially ordered by FOX.

But if there is going to be a season 5 of prison break, then i am sure that he would be alive. unless another story will start. But i don't see a reason to start another season, probably something to do with his son.
