Igneous rocks are a type of rockformed when magma (molten rock) far down beneath the earth gets trapped in small pockets. They then slowly cool down underneath the ground forming igneous rock. They can also be formed when volcanoes erupt. The magma rises above the earth's surface then cools down to become solid. This solid is the igneous rock. They can be used for road buildings and gravestones. Pumice and granite is an example is igneous rock.
