"Macro-anatomy" is a kind of abbreviation for the term "Macroscopical anatomy".

Macroscopical anatomy is the part of health sciencies, which deals with the description of the structure of the body of an organism, to the level of detail which can be reached only by the eye (without the use of other equipment such as microscopes).

It is otherwise called gross anatomy.

On the other side, the term "microscopical anatomy" or more common "histology" deals with the description of the body structure at a more detailed level, with the use of both optical and electronic miscoscope.
