Pyramid Schemes are illegal, they were very popular in the 70's and early 80's. You simply get invited into one usually by someone you know for $100 and money keeps working it's way to the top people. Then you invite people in for the same amount, the more people under you the more money you made. Illegal Pyramids only exchange money and do not offer any products or services. Some people today call MLM's pyramids but there are uneducated and usually are the broke people that live paycheck to paycheck and always will. Back in the late 80's the The Supreme Court of the United State ruled that MLM's are legal and must follow strict guidelines. If you want more info on the legit ones or have anymore questions email me direct anytime at fortunehtm@hotmail.com , Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Robert Kiyosaki all agree it's the only way in today's business world that the average joe can play on the same field as the big boys.

Well, people have been legitimately motivated by her, because she is a motivational speaker. Many have been motivated to pay a subscription to read her website "secrets". The "secrets" are only worth the subscription if you highly value commonly known and vaguely explained marketing techniques, along with pyramid schemes (network marketing) that do more to prey on the gullible and vulnerable than provide honest income. Provide income they do though, mostly for Dani!
A pyramid scheme is where a person pays to another person or company a payment, (called a participation payment) for the right to receive payment or other benefits from the recruitment of other persons, (called a recruitment payment).
Pyramid selling plans or ponzi schemes are illegal and fraudulent.
Pyramid schemes are considered scams because they lie about actually giving payments and benefits. They are considered illegal in numerous countries too.

"Yes, pyramid schemes are highly against the law in America. If you are caught you could possibly spend time in prison and maybe even spend time in a penitentiary."

None. At best, they are sites to harvest e-mail. At worst, phising sites or pyramid schemes.
Generally, these are pyramid schemes or other types of scams. Sometimes, they lead to sites that will infect your computer with viruses. Do not click on them.
Multi-level marketing and pyramid schemes share similarities but share a crucial distinction. MLM involves legitimate sales of products or services, where distributors earn commissions not only for their sales but also for recruiting others into the network. In contrast, pyramid schemes primarily focus on recruitment, with little to no emphasis on actual product sales, leading to unsustainable structures where only the top few participants profit while the majority incur losses.
Depends, do you consider Pyramid schemes a scam? I would say yes, it is a huge scam, but that's just me.
Pyramid schemes are not necessarily illegal. Especially as they always call themselves something else. Like "Multi-Level Marketing" or "MLMs". Amway is a notable example, and a couple of decades back I was vastly entertained to hear one of them try and explain how it was really more of a tetrahedron then a pyramid! But things can be a scam, and still be legal. People forget that.
"MLM" stands for Multi-Level Marketing. Other terms for this are "pyramid selling", "network marketing", and "referral marketing". These forms are technically legal, if a bit ethically dodgy. The most nefarious and illegal forms of MLM business practices are called "pyramid schemes".
No. Mary Kay Inc. is one of the largest direct selling companies in the skin care and cosmetic industry. Pyramid schemes seek to make money from you (and quickly). Direct selling companies seek to make money with you as you build your business (and theirs) selling consumer products and services.
