Ranges of temperatures and precipitation in Arizona are extreme. Average annual temperatures vary from the middle 20s C (70s F) in the low desert areas along the Gila and Colorado rivers to less than 5 C (middle 40s F) in the pine country of central and east-central Arizona. And average annual precipitation ranges from about 76 mm (3 in) in the southwest to more than 760 mm (30 in) in the central and eastern mountains.

The average high temperature in Tucson during the winter is in the 50s - 60s. Overnight, the low is usually in the high 30s - low 40s. We have a few nights under freezing, but not many. Of course, where in Tucson you stay changes the temperature because outlying areas tend to be colder.

VERY, VERY hot. During the summer, it is rare to have a day under 100 degrees F, most often much hotter. The other day was 116 F.
