Most would agree that "Aikido" would be best for women. It requires little to no strength. In Japan, the Tokyo Riot Police women are required to have a black belt in Aikido, the men have an option between Judo or Aikido. There are many techniques that would be useful for women in Aikido, especially the different styles of a way that someone might grab another person. The one that they will study and practice. The type of art is going to be less important then the instructor and student relationship. I have seen highly effective women in many Martial Arts. The biggest challenge is getting to the point in any of the martial arts to understand the full system and the ability to tailor it to one's own size and skill levels. for more detail visit http://www.dynamicmma.ca/

No martial art is the best. Only those who can master it can be better then another person. Even karate history comes from Chinese martial art.

Martial art is only one, and the methods are different, the martial art is by essence self-defense, so if your method of applying the techniques is effective then your style is the best in self-defense. You can visit my Youtube channel for self-defense videos @elmolishow
Kung fu is my opinion but the "best" is a matter of opinion.
Traditional Kung fu
the best chinese martial art in my opinion is wing chun kung fu and the best martial arts teacher of this style would either be ip man or sum nung
