∙ 12y agoIt takes awhile and I should know as I parted ways with my N in February. I think the best thing to do is to surround yourself with people who care about you and do all of those wonderful things that you used to enjoy before he came on the scene. At the moment I am learning more about the personality of an N and are writing a blog about it which has helped me to understand alot about things. Get some books out of the library on the subject too and join a couple of support groups online. In time we will heal but at the moment you will feel alot of your questions that you had for the N are still up there. Unfortunately they will probably never get answered and this is where we are better off without them. We need to be with someone who is really going to value us for who we are and not for their own selfish reasons.

depending on if your the narcissist or just someone around the narcissist..... if you are the narcissist dont worry it wont effect you. You will just continue on with your selfish ways and use people for what they can do for you. If your someone around the narcissist..... RUN- get out while you can. The only way to really survive is to not have them in your life

They don't "turn into" a destructive narcissist... they just drop the "nice guy" facade they used to lure you in.
