You can go two main different ways. You could go through Limerick city, and then on to Patrickswell, Rathkeale, Newcastlewest, Abbeyfeale, Castleisland, and then Killarney. Another way is to head to Killimer in County Clare and take the ferry across the Shannon Estuary to Tarbert in county Kerry. You can then go to Castleisland, and then Killarney. There is not much different in terms of distance, whichever way you go.
You would have to go to an airport, like Kerry Airport, which is the nearest one. It is a small airport, but does do flights to London. You could also go to Shannon Airport or Cork Airport and fly from either of them. They are international airports but much further from Killarney.
There is a train service between Dublin and Killarney. You could also go by road, in a car or bus.
The quickest would be to fly, but as there are not many flights, going by train would be best or you could get there by driving or by bus.
the six main ones would be trinity college dublin, royal college of surgeons in ireland, university college dublin, university college cork, and national university of ireland, galway. i personally think trinity is the best cuz i studied there graduates turn out pretty good.
Kilkenny to Dublin.
to visit Blarney for the day you could travel by car on the M7 and M8 motorway - about 2.5 hours from the limit of Dublin or you could travel by train from Dublin Heuston to Cork and travel to Blarney from the station - about 3.5 hours
The Shelbourne (bought by Marriott) is probably the best hotel in Dublin - http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/dubbr-the-shelbourne-dublin-a-renaissance-hotel/ I sayed there for a few night... amazing. They locals said it was the best in Dublin, as I did not know because I just booked any Marriott in Dublin.
Dublin would probably be the best example. Other urban areas include Galway, Cork, Belfast, Derry, Limerick, Waterford, Armagh and lots of others.
If you are looking to travel to Dublin I would first contact a travel agency and ask for information about area as, far as hotel accomadations and which areas are suitable for tourist and which are red light districts.

As the "Common Travel Area" is in place, you do not need a passport to go to Dublin from the UK. When flying between the UK and Ireland it is best to ask your airline what form of ID will be accepted.
