The Earth's upper mantle is composed of rocks that have higher concentrations of mafic minerals (containing iron and magnesium) and lower in concentrations of the felsic minerals (aluminum and silica) than the rocks of Earth's crust.
The concentrations of the above elements therefore mean that the Earth's mantle is composed of a series of minerals that are predominately calcium / iron / magnesium aluminum silicates.
Such as:
In the upper mantle, these minerals form the rocks types Peridotite, Dunite (Olivine-rich Peridotite), and Eclogite.

Most of Earth's lower mantle is made of a magnesium silicate mineral called perovskite. In 2004, earth scientists discovered that under the conditions of the lower mantle, perovskite can change into a high-pressure form, which they dubbed post-perovskite. Since its discovery, post-perovskite has been geophysicists' favorite candidate to explain the composition of a mysterious layer that forms the bottom of Earth's lower mantle.
Known to earth scientists as D" (dee-double-prime), this layer averages 120 miles thick and lies directly above Earth's core. D" was named in 1949 by seismologist Keith Bullen, who found the layer from the way earthquake waves travel through the planet's interior. But the nature of D" has eluded scientists since Bullen's discovery.
the lower core is mainly made up of helium and iron
The earths mantle is less dense and it's very hot.
it is dead bodies
The lower mantle is a part of the mantle.

The crust and upper mantle make up the earth.
the earths crust and the rigid upper mantle
Together the crust and upper mantle make the lithosphere.
The asthenosphere is the upper part of Earth's mantle. It is partially molten (plastic rheology) and mechanically detached from the lithosphere, which is mostly the Earth's crust (but also a little bit of upper mantle). The density of the upper mantle is your mom! (yo mamma!)
I think the lower mantle of the earth is mostly solid because even though the heat is extremely high, the pressureis high enough to make it a solid.
The middle and lower mantle makes up the asthenosphere.

Nearly every element on the Periodic Table can be found in the mantle. The most abundant elements are iron, oxygen, silicon, magnesium, calcium, and aluminum.
