Joshua was an example of Jesus Christ as savior, even carrying the same Hebrew name "yahowshuwa" "Yahovah-yasha" = Yahovah Saved or Freed or Delivered. Joshua did as our Father ordered having complete faith in our Father. He was the replacement for Moses and the one who would lead Israel into the promised land.

Josiah was a king in Jerusalem (Judah/Benjamin), he like Joshua, followed our Father "did that which was right in the sight of our Father, without waver" He set Judah/Benjamin back on the right pathway and in the good graces of our Father, during his 30 year reign.

Both men are similar in the fact that they were faithful with our Father and caused others to be the same as they set the example for them to follow. There is a difference between a king as a despot who is focused upon his own will, and a king as a leader of a nation who focuses upon the will of a higher power (such as our Father)

One need humble them self if one is to become a leader who understands their responsibility to our Father to lead his people, according to the will of our Father.

Who were the audience of the book of Joshua?

The Book of Joshua is part of the Deuteronomic History (Joshua, Judges, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings and 2 Kings), which forms a well integrated series written during the seventh-century-BCE reign of King Josiah, by an anonymous author now known as the 'Deuteronomist'. What was the book found in the Temple during the reign of Josiah?

AnswerThe book found, or supposedly found, in the Temple during the reign of King Josiah was the 'Book of Law', believed to have been the Book of Deuteronomy. Scholars say that the relatively modern Hebrew language in the book, along with its similarity of style to other books written during the reign of Josiah (Joshua, Judges, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings and 2 Kings), indicate that this book was also written during this time and only placed in the Temple in order to be 'found' there. This allowed Josiah to claim antiquity for the book when reading it to the people of Jerusalem.

Was Joshua the author of the Book of Joshua?

Yes. The universal Jewish tradition as attested explicitly in Joshua itself (ch. 24) and in the Talmud (Bava Bathra 14b), is that Joshua wrote the book that bears his name. The last few verses, concerning Joshua's death, are assumed to be a postscript penned by Elazar son of Aaron and by Elazar's son Pinchas (Bava Bathra 15a).Another AnswerNo, but not just because the Book of Joshua contains material about the death of Joshua. The Book of Joshua is written in a late form of Hebrew and in the same writing style as the Books of Judges, Samuel and Kings. It is considered to be part of the Deuteronomic History, written during the reign of King Josiah of Judah by the anonymous author now known as the Deuteronomist.

Who is prophet Joshua?

Joshua was a servant and a successor of Moses. While Moses led Israel out of Egypt, Joshua completed by leading Israel into the promised land in conquest after Moses' death. Joshua was not a prophet, but a spiritual leader of Israel. He simply followed Moses' instructions and finished what he has started as well as continually enforce the law of Moses. Joshua is mentioned many times in the books of Exodus, Numbers and Deuteronomy as a servant of Moses, and there's a lot more about him in the book of Joshua as the leader of the nation.
