It depends who makes the magazine and who makes the gun. It should say in the magazine's description (on the website) which guns and which companies it works with. If it doesn't say anywhere just call the company who makes the magazine or the company who makes the gun.
The difference lies in the actual fireams. The SCAR-L is chambered for a 5.56mm NATO round thus there is a smaller magazine. The SCAR-H is chambered for the NATO 7.62mm thus the larger size.
