Every solar system has a star, in our case it's the sun. Now the sun has different planets circling around it. Just like the earth, mars is one of the sun's planets. A star is a massive ball of plasma that is held together by gravity. (It's gravity is also greater than that of it's planets.)

The sun would appear about 2/3 as big from Mars as it does from Earth, so only about 1/2 as bright.

However, Mars' atmosphere cannot block most UV light or high energy radiation from the Sun, so a person without protective shade on his spacesuit (they cannot live without one) would be blinded in a very short time.

The Sun is 208 times larger than Mars. So 8,998,912 (almost 9 million) Mars would fit inside the Sun.

What is the same about earth and mars?

They are both rocky, relatively the same size and shape, contain water (though mars has only trace amounts). Both have atmospheres, are relatively close to the sun. Both hypothetically capable of supporting life. But if you need to compare them they would be the same.earth similar to mars is sphere shape .

The planet Mars is round in shape. All of the planets in our solar system are orbits. The gravitational pull of the sun has formed the planets to be around.

How does Mars temperature compare to Earth's temperature?

Mars is, on the whole, far colder than the Earth, for a couple of reasons. First off, it's farther from the Sun. Secondly, and probably most importantly, Mars has no atmosphere to speak of. The lack of an atmospheric "blanket" means that Mars is unable to retain any heat energy that does get to it from the Sun.

How far away in miles is Mars from the Sun?

Because of the elliptical shape of its orbit, its distance from the Sun is anywhere from 128 to 155 million miles.
