I think it gives us a very bittersweet message. Life is harsh, it's filled with sorrow and pain trying to protect the ones we love, the ones we care about. A mother's love, so strong, so beautiful, being able to give yourself away just for the little and only ray of sun left for her, a daughters laughter. Even the child nurtures the mother's love, being patient every single day for that angel called mother to pick the child up again into the world of happiness. A man, committing a sin and trying to redeem himself by showing his real heart to the eyes of others. Sadly, even though a mothers love may have no end, her powers may soon abandon her. A little girl's hopes still don't wither and a sinner's true face, hidden by the mask of kindness is revealed. Mothers give their life for their daughters, even though a miserable life the mother journeys, all was for that small, fragile, face-lit figurine called her child. The mothers death symbolizes loyalty and pureness, the child's pain and duration symbolizes innocence and kindness, and the man's sin and change symbolizes remorse and determination.

In other words, these people used life to protect each other and make each other happy. Life is given to every one of us, we choose how to use it, how to weal it. If we sacrifice ourselves for our loved ones smile, we know it was worth the pain, the sorrow,.... the misery. Though the true happiness gained for the people who sacrificed is knowing their loved ones are happy, smiling.

Hope this helps you get the concept.
