you have to be 14
EDIT: Actually, you don't need a work permit in Florida, according to Florida Law, since I was asked this in an application like 2 weeks ago (when I turned 14).
Here is the link: http://www.myflorida.com/dbpr/reg/childlabor/ChildLaborEduc.html
So Child Labor Laws are pretty non-existent!
Hope this helps you on your "quest" to find a job!

P.S: I hate my name (leftbehindkid101) because I signed up for it when I was much younger, I'm not left behind, quite the opposite actually!
Thanks!
You can work in Florida if you are 14 years old or older. However, there are restrictions on when and how much children under the age of 17 can work.
Florida is protected by strict child labor laws to prevent the exploitation of children for labor. Children have to be above the age of 14 in order to work.
You have to be 14, to get a job in Florida.

Finding a summer job in Fort Pierce, Florida when you are only 13 can be difficult. You would be better off doing work for neighbors. You could do yard work, or walk dogs. These types of jobs are often suitable for someone who is 13.
