it is transmitted by contaminated food and water.it is fetovoral
virus
The salmonella typhi bacterium that causes typhoid fever spreads through poor hygiene habits and public sanitation conditions. Sometimes flying insects feeding on feces carry the bacterium. The fever does not affect animals. Transmission is only from human to human because salmonella typhi solely lives in humans. Typhoid fever spreads in environments where contaminated human feces or urine mixes with food or drinking water. Persons with typhoid fever carry the bacteria in their bloodstream and gastrointestinal tract. A small number of persons, called carriers, recover from typhoid fever but continue to carry the bacteria. Both ill persons and carriers shed Salmonella typhi through their body wastes. Typhoid fever can also be contacted through eating food or drinking beverages handled by people shedding Salmonella typhi. Transmission occurs if sewage contaminated with Salmonella typhi bacteria gets into the water for drinking or washing food. Typhoid fever is common in areas where washing of hands is less frequent and water is contaminated with sewage. Once Salmonella typhi bacteria are eaten or drunk, they multiply and spread inside the bloodstream.
Flies, Finger, Feces, Food, Fornication
Typhoid bacteria can be cultured from the urine of the patient of typhoid. But then the transmission of infection by way of urine is less likely.
Typhoid fever was worst in USA before 1954. In that year Dr John snow could identify the mode of transmission of diseases by fecal oral route. The things changed for better within few years in developed countries. Others have been developing and will probably keep developing.
Its transmission is direct.
Typhoid bacteria is often spread through water and cannot survive high temperatures like the 100oC of boiling water so by boiling the water the typhoid bacteria is killed and the chance of transmission is reduced.
Diphtheria is usually spread between people by direct contact or through the air.
