The national percentage of diversion of a controlled substance in hospitals around the U.S. is 52% slightly over half in 2009. In 2008 the numbers were dramatically lower at 44%. For an increase of 8% in a given year is outrageous. For pharmaceutical drugs its slightly over 70%. the numbers and statistics for pharmaceutical drugs always and will always have a high rising trend. With the economy the way it is and the lost of jobs depression will be the start of another uplift in percentage.
