The path is as follows:

  1. Bank A issues a cheque book to a customer A
  2. Customer A issues cheque to another person B to whom he owes money
  3. Person B deposits the cheque into his bank account B
  4. Bank B sends a request to Bank A reg. the cheque along with the amount
  5. Bank A confirms if Customer A has enough money for the cheque and pays Bank B
  6. Bank B receives the funds and credits it into Person B's account.
