Here's a recipe for sugar cokie. The ingredients first:

• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup powdered sugar
• 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 egg
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 1 cup chopped coconut or preferred nuts

The steps:

Start by sifting and combining the flour, baking powder and salt.

Cream the butter, shortening and sugar using mixer. Add egg and milk to creamed mixture.

Next, place the mixture on low speed and start adding the flour combination along with cocunut. Beat it until the mixture lifts from the sides of the bowl.

Now, separate the dough in halves and wrap it in waxed paper and refrigerate it for about 2 hours.

Preheat it over 350 degrees F.

Apply the powdered sugar to rolling surface and to rolling pin.
