Indefinite, aluminum is a metal it doesnt rot, spoil, degrade over time. It does form a thin but tough oxide layer of rust that will further protect the metal itself. The rust is normally clear but can be white or translusent. It should only affect the outer layers and near the edges, because it is so tightly wound the inner layers will probably be unaffected and will remain in a new to semi new state. There is however the possibility of the metal layers fusing together. This however will take quite a while in the order of tens of thousands if not millions of years. Needless to say unless you store it in ocean water it will be usable for our purposes forever. It should be stored flat in its origional packaging if possible to prevent warping of the cardboard tubing and metal. It is rodent and insect proof, except for the outer cardboard packaging. From a usability, asthetic and health stand point try and keep bugs and rodents away from it. It is not affected by temperature extremes, unless you throw it in a 800C temperature or above fire. So it can be stored in an unclimatized room or shed. Hope this helps.
