"A" is the only series letter on 1977 $10 bills. You may be referring to the Federal Reserve District letter. The series letter, if any, on US bills is next to the date.

There's more information at the question "What is the value of a 1977 US 10 dollar bill?".

As of 08/2013 it would retail for only $11 in average condition; a dealer would pay face value. A nice uncirculated one might sell for around $17.
