What is wrong if an Explorer 2000 XLT reads really hot and the radiator and hoses are really hot but the radiator is full?

Have you replaced the thermostat? The water in radiator should not be boiling! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is your cooling fan/viscous clutch working ? (Helpfull)

Why does your top hose from your radiator get hard?
If the temp gauge reads normal and the engine is not overheating, this is normal. The system is designed to hold 15-17 psi of pressure (whatever the radiator cap is set for). This pressure will make the hoses feel hard.
