People living in The Andes use llamas to transport things up and down the mountains as they can easily climb the steep hills. The llamas are grazed on the highest areas because they soil isn't very good there so it's useless for agriculture.

A lot of people grow subsistence crops (crops for themselves) because travel is difficult so it's good to have easily acessible crops.

Crops are grown on terraces. These are flat areas of land cut out of the steep hill side to prevent soil slipping and nutrients being lost.

Apparently the people have biologically adapted to altitude/lesser amount of oxygen up there, but I don't know how reliable that is.

Humans have adapted to life on the Andes Mountains in many ways. One big way is transportation. The mountains are obviously steep, and very hard to travel up and down it. People found a way around that problem by using llamas to transport goods and items up and down the mountain. People use llamas because they can easily climb the steep hills, and are able to graze on the highest areas, which is made of bad soil and is useless for agriculture.

Another way humans have adapted to life on the Andes is farming. Since the farmland isn't very good, they don't mass-produce food. They only grow subsistence crops, or crops for themselves or their families. The ways these crops are grown are on terraces, or flat areas of land cut out of a hill to stop soil from slipping and losing nutrients.
