The planet Venus has no liquid water, so the surface is hot, dry, and rocky, marked by lava flows and some volcanoes, and relatively few impact craters. Many of what appear to be craters are actually unique volcanic features such as:
farra - flat-topped mesas
novae - star-shaped radial features
coronae - ring-shaped features thought to be caused by the rise and collapse of a subsurface dome of heated material
arachnoids - spider-web designs
The terrain of Venus is mostly flat, rocky, relatively "new" lava plains about 300 million years old, marked by volcanoes and impact craters. There are two highland "continent" features called Ishtar Terra and Aphrodite Terra.
Some unique volcanic features found on Venus are:
farra - flat-topped pancake-like mesas
novae - star-shaped radial features
coronae - ring-shaped features which may be collapsed subsurface magma domes
arachnoids - spider-web designs

Mercury has many craters on its surface. The planet has been hit many, many times through the years by asteroids and other objects. These impacts have caused all the craters on the surface. Earth probably had this many craters at one time, but our weather has worn them down over the years. The weather on Mercury varies from extremely hot to extremely cold. The temperature on the side of the planet facing towards the Sun is around 370 degrees Celsius. The "daytime" temperature on Mercury varies, depending on how close it is to the Sun. At the other extreme, the temperature on the side away from the Sun can be less than -150 degrees Celsius.
Venus's surface is comprised of about 80% smooth volcanic plains, the rest being mountainous regions.
Volcanic. We aren't sure if any volcanoes are still active though.
If anyone knows the answer please share it! I really need it for a science project!
the land features are volcanoes and craters.
Mercury has no twin planet, it is not really like any of the other planets.
how is mercury like luna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mercury is the planet closest to the sun.
the planet Mercury is named after the god... Mercury!

Mercury.
Mercurys terrain is Hilly and Lineated Terrain. Sometimes, it is called the Chaotic Terrain, because it looks pretty chaotic. The Hilly and Lineated Terrain covers perhaps 360,000 square kilometers of Mercury's surface and consists of massifs filled with hills ranging, in some cases, nearly two kilometers high and several kilometers across. The hills have an appearance of almost rectangular blocks. Many ancient craters in the area are ruined by whatever event created the chaotic nature of this part of Mercury's surface.Mercury has a crater like terrain. It has been hit by so many craters that it has lost 0.1% of its diameter.
Mercury is the planet that most resembles the Moon in visible surface features and atmosphere. It is a grey planet that has many craters and a thin atmosphere.
Saturn is a gas planet. The only planet after Mars that is a terrain planet is Pluto (which is technically not a planet at all, but a dwarf planet).
Mercury.
The hills of Mercury are located, not surprising, on the Planet Mercury. Better known as the "weird terrain" this unusual hilly terrain is at the antipode (on the opposite side of the planet) from the Caloris Basin - the site of one of the solar systems largest impact feature. It is believed that the impact that created the Caloris Basin, sent shock waves around the planet, that met at the antipode thus fracturing the surface, jumbling the crust and breaking it into a series of complex blocks. Planet Mercury has no moons, just like planet Venus.
