D9 was the lifeboat J.M.Brown escaped the Titanic on.
Margaret Brown was saved from Titanic on lifeboat #6.
Margaret Brown was rescued on lifeboat 6, which was commandeered by Quartermaster Hitchens and also hosting the lookout, Frederick Fleet, and many first-class passengers.
she got on lifeboat 6
I believe you are talking about the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown who was an American socialite aboard the Titanic. While she may have rowed lifeboat #6 for 6 hours, she is more famous for insisting that the lifeboat go back to pick up survivors from the water. Unfortunately by the time she convinced the crew on the lifeboat to return to the site of the sinking, there was nobody left alive.
Molly Brown was 44, having been born in 1867.
Her name was Margaret Brown, also known as the Unsinkable Molly Brown (though she wasn't ever called Molly until after she died in 1922). She was in first class and boarded at Cherbourg. She escaped in lifeboat six.
I'm not sure but I read that Molly Brown was one of the women from a group of women that went back to look for survivors. The real Molly Brown was in control of a lifeboat of passengers, did look for survivors, and kept the passengers in her boat from panicking. That is why she is remembered as the Unsinkable Molly Brown .
Because she took control of the lifeboat that she was in, mainly because of the ineptness of the seaman who was supposed to guide them to safety, and by doing so kept up the spirit of the would be survivors. She came to be known as "The Indomitable Molly Brown" or "The Unsinkable Molly Brown".
