The Gulf Stream.
The UK has a temperate climate. No extremes of high or low temperature.
The Gulf Stream. Warm moist air flows from the Mexican Gulf Region North East over the UK
Colonists did not understand the land as Aboriginal people did. They wanted to turn Australia into the same farming produce type land that Europe and UK was. So they had to introduce plants from UK and Europe. This did not always work well as Australia has a very different climate than that of Europe and the UK. This was the same reason for the introduction of animals into the Australian continent. Cattle, sheep, birds and rabbits were introduced. This had a devastating affect on the country.
Northern Ireland has a mild to temperate maritime climate, like much of the rest of the UK and Ireland. Basically, it rarely gets extremes of weather. It averages about 20-25 celcius in the summer and 0-5 celcius in the winter. It is apparently the rainiest part of the UK (don't know how accurate that info. is though), but it still doesn't rain as much as British stereotypes would let on. For example, New York state in the US is much rainier that Britain on average. I would describe it as dull, more than anything.
The UK did not import any countries.
The Gulf Stream is a current of warm water that has enough warmth left after crossing the Atlantic Ocean to make the climate of the UK mild and wet. If the current ever changed course, and missed the UK entirely, the climate of the UK would change.
Because the United Kingdom is an island, this keeps summers warm and wet and winters generally mild and well..WET.

Britain has a mild climate due to the warm gulfstream current that runs north along the United States, then turns east toward Britain. It warms Greenland and Iceland a little bit, too. Some scientists believe that in the future, the gulfstream will change its direction, leaving the UK to be very, very cold.

The UK has a temperate maritime climate.
The warming influence of the Gulf Stream, a strong ocean current, helps to moderate the climate in the U.K. by bringing warm water from the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, the U.K.'s location at a high latitude allows for warmer air masses to frequently move in from the southwest.
Temperate Climate
The Gulf Stream has a warming effect on the climate of the UK. (See links below)
Temperate. Summers are mild and so are the winters, but both are greatly affected by coastal-climate humidity. It doesn't rain nearly as much as in the UK or Norway, but we get lots of summer showers.
Britain has a temperate climate - generally mild winters and warm summers. Extreme weather is uncommon, although the weather is very changeable. It rains frequently, but different parts of Britain receive different amounts of rain.
