It could be your C-V joints, If so you should get it fixed before the problem escalates This is incorrect. All Thunderbirds are rear wheel drive therefore will not have CV joints on the front. It sounds like you need ball joint/bushings replaced.

What would cause a thunking noise in your car when you turn?

If the noise is only when you turn or accelerate hard it is most likely a half shaft joint has gone bad.To check, lift the front of the car and place it on jack stands. Reach up and grab the center shaft and push and pull on it (side to side motion). There should only be marginal side to side play. Also look at dust boots at the joints to see if they are ripped open or torn.

Your 1993 Chevy LTZ will start but wont move an inch Theres a loud knocking sound coming from the engine What could this be also the knocking sound will happen when when letting off the accelerator?

I don't think the news will be good. It sounds like a bearing is compromised on a connecting rod. I suppose it could be a main bearing as well so here is how to tell which. It the engine siezes completely, it is the main bearing. If you see a connecting rod come out you'll know it was that. A bad main bearing produces a very deep thunking noise and usually vibration. With main bearing failures, the metal bearing inserts will actually melt and weld themselves to the crankshaft then evrything comes to a quick halt. There is one other option that has a pretty good chance of being the problem and that is that your timing chain has jumped a gear which is throwing off everything else. I would check this out first because it is repairable since I believe that engine is a non-interference engine meaning no valve damage. Put a timing light on it and you will be able to see if it is off a notch. If all else fails and the rest of the car is still good, buy a crate motor. I bought a Target (not the dept store) engine, 5.0L (305cid) and it was much better than the original. Jasper makes them and there are a bunch more. Even junkyards have the 5.0L around all the time but the 350's are harder to find and go quickly. Good luck vbdenny
