The time has 2 do with what type of squirrel it is... Comment and tell me what type of squirrel :) well chipmunks do not hibernate, they go into torpor, it is sleep that can last for a few days at time
Chipmunks begin their hibernation in October and they come out of hibernation in April. Over the course of the six months they stay underground but do not stay asleep for the whole six months. This is a on-again, off-again process.
