Don't know about the E46, but my 97/98 318ti locks and unlocks with the central locking.
A BMW 318ti should have a 12V 55Ah CCA (SAE) 450A fitted if it's an E36 model
Chain
no dipstick.
The front oxygen sensor is located on the exhaust manifold of the BMW 318ti. The rear oxygen sensor is located in the head pipe.
The BMW 318ti does not have a conventional automatic transmission filler tube. There is a drain plug on the pan, and a refill plug on the opposite side of the pan. Dextron III is the common fluid, however the owners manual states that it is a "lifetime" fluid. To keep the original quality of the fluid you change, you should use Pentosin Yellow ZF at about $15 a ltr. The refill capasity is exactly 3 liters. You will need to have a pump of some sort to add the fluid to the refill tube. Yes. The 318ti was a two door hatchback.
If this refers to a 318ti, the t stands for hatchback and the i stands for injected.
On my 1998 US Model 318ti, the battery is located under the hood, on the right side, against the firewall, in a plastic battery box. See the related link for a photo of the engine bay, with the battery box top removed.
