Short term: * Try offering a treat, or running in the opposite direction. * Dogs are hardwired to chase and may instinctively react thinking you are playing a chase game with them. This goes both ways. If you chase after them, they run, but if you run, they chase after you. * Patricia McConnell suggests bending at the waist a little, turning away, and clapping while you call in an excited voice. * What I would do is have a talk with him. Don't laugh this sometimes works.
