im not sure of an answer but i also live in Wisconsin and i recently found a small black spider on my wall and i tried to catch it and it jumped at me..but i looked online everywhere and i found nuthing...it looked a lot like a hobo spider mixed with a black house spider
that would be the jumping spider probably, they are very fast and they jump. If they bite you it is not lethall however they can cause nausia dizziness and swelling. They are all around my parents house in the trees
Dont worry, jumping Spiders arent aggressive! if it is the spider that i am thinking of, they are hairy and often they have a little orange or white spot on them. When I was a kid I wasnt afraid of spiders and i used to catch them in my hand and let them jump from one hand to the next. They never tried to bite me, but as far as spiders go, they seemed almost curious. Jumping spiders are one of the spiders that don't build webs, but rather hunt for their food. This makes them more intelligent than many spiders, and I have often known them to look up at your face (which is a little creepy lol) But they arent any more aggressive than your average spider, meaning they would rather run than attack and will only bite if they are in danger of being squished, i.e. if they happen to be in your clothes when you put them on. Its likely that it jumped but Im certain that its intention wasnt to attack you.
The spider which you are describing, being black and about the size of the palm of your hand in Ohio is likely a wolf spider. They are not aggressive but will bite if provoked. While not lethal to humans, a wolf spider bite will require medical attention as they are poisonous.

It may be a Black Widow spider. They are very poisonous and it is probably best not to approach it if you are unsure of the species. Black spiders have a distinctive red "hourglass" shape on its back.
Some species of black widow have a red dot. A redback spider, the equivalent of a black widow in Australia, also has a red dot on its back. It is all black and quite small and has a big red patch on its back. it is highly venomous. See the related link below for a picture.
Black widow spider and the Brazilian Wandering Spider are because of their deadly bite. The black widow is called black widow because the female eats her mate after mating. They are found in Australia and can be deadly if provoked. The Brazilian Wandering Spider is called Wandering spider because it it doesn't hunt on a web, it approaches prey and eats it. It's venom is 15 times deadlier than the Black Widow's. There have been reports that wandering spiders have been found in fruit, mostly bananas.
Their smallest spider is the black widow. SIKE.
The Orb Weaver is the spider with an orange back and black diamonds on its back. It is not aggressive and not venomous.
