first off, do not wear tight shoes. let your feet breath! (just be careful so that you don't bang it). I went to a podiatrist to get it clipped, and he actually said to not use epsom salts, but he gave me these special drops to use instead. If you go to a podiatrist, they will probably give you an alternative other than epsom salts. also, do not pick at it. do not try cutting into it to try to get the nail out. it will work itself out with the epsom salts. you will only irritate it by digging into it...and for the future, i have found that it is very helpful to avoid cutting toenails in a peaked look. cut stright across or even leave the edges a little longer 9not by much, but it avoids the chance of an ingrown toenail. not fun, i know) hope that helps!
Hangnails can be painful. If one becomes infected it is best to clip it, apply peroxide or rubbing alcohol, then some antibiotic and wrap it in a bandage. If infection gets worse, consult a doctor.
The most common treatment at this time is Terbinafine (Lamicil). The bad thing is this is generally a treatment of 6-12 weeks, and you must be dedicated to the treatment by not missing doses. This is not recommended if you have any liver disease however. I would check with a doctor before starting this treatment if I thought I had this.
Soak it in Epsom salt salt solution, and if that doesn't help, go to the doctor, and get an antibiotic.

No.
Warm water with a good amount of salt for no longer than 2 minutes. Dress the toe in a clean dressing and go to a Podiatrist who will take the point of the nail out without causing distress or further complication. They do not need to remove the toenail. If it is painful, red, swollen and discharging, get some antibiotics. Here is a good site for advice: http://www.ldfootcare.com/ingrown-toenail-101.html
As they say, fight fire with fire, it may hurt a litte but take a lighter to your nails for a minute or so, within the week it'll be gone ;D
Having an infection can be bothersome. To heal an infected finger, one must find the cause of the infection and clean out area.
you keep washing your hands or go to a doctor,
Well, you should probaly cut off the nail from your toe and then when it grows back it will be slightly better.
A lot of people recommend soaking your feet in warm water for anywhere from 15-30 minutes. Also, people say to let it air out and it will help and be easy to get rid of.
Evidence that a toenail is actually infected is if the toe has swelling or redness & if there is pus underneath the toenail. If the toenail is infected, you can 1). with the the blade of a finger nail clipper CAREFULLY go under the nail and try pulling it from the skin, 2). soak your foot in a pan of epsom salt mixed with hot water for about 20-30 minutes. If neither work, or if you do not want to try clipping the infected nail yourself, make an appointment with a podiatrist.
The best rated toenail fungus treatment is Funginix. Funginix is an FDA registered treatment. It contains potent botanical ingredients and uses a topical approach to attack fungus and cure it from the inside out.

It turns your toenail dark (sometimes light) yellow, it smells bad and can make your toenail very brittle.

Ingrown toenails hurt because what is happening is that your toenail is penetrating the skin. when anything penetrates your skin it will hurt. The toenail will press on nerves in the toe. another reason that it hurts is that it is infected. The way to treat an infected ingrown toenail is to remove the toenail from the opening in the skin with nail trimmers then soak the toe in warm salt water. Hope this helps!!
It should not be necessary unless it becomes infected.
rip it off then stick it in dirt then let it get infected and then go to the doctor
If you don't take good care of it, there is a large possibility that it would get infected and turn into a toenail fungus. Toenail fungus is largely caused by poor hygiene practice, so with a broken nail plus poor hygiene that would lead into a fungal infection.

An ingrown toenail. It may be infected and need medical treatment.
Ointment that you can apply on a black and blue toenail includes Neosporin. This will not likely help with the bruising, but it can keep it from getting infected, and may help with the pain.
In order to protect your toenail, you should:Soak it in epsom salt,Put a bandage around it to prevent dirt or germs from infecting it,Wear shoes at all times.Your toenail will eventually grow back, but you need to keep taking care of it so it won't get infected, because that will prohibit growth of the new nail.
you should, or it could get infected i would recommend going to the doctor to get it removed in an operation should only be about an hour
Yes; but possibly not as effective as prescription. Also, you will need to throw out your shoes so that you do not become re-infected.
It is recommended to seek treatment from a healthcare professional, such as a podiatrist or a doctor, for the removal of an ingrown and infected toenail. They have the expertise and tools necessary to properly diagnose and treat the condition, reducing the risk of complications or further infection.
