In Matthew 27:46, as Jesus is about to die on the cross, he cries out "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me". He was not saying, however, that God had actually forsaken him. Rather, he was referring those who were there to remember Psalm 22:1, which begins with those same words.
There was no numbering of scripture in those days; passages, and Psalms, were referred to by their first lines. He was telling those who heard him that the prophecy in the Psalm was being fulfilled.
(Matthew 27:45, 46) 45 From the sixth hour on a darkness fell over all the land, until the ninth hour. 46 About the ninth hour Jesus called out with a loud voice, saying: "E′li, E′li, la′ma sa·bach·tha′ni?" that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
(Mark 15:33, 34) 33 When it became the sixth hour a darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus called out with a loud voice: "E′li, E′li, la′ma sa·bach·tha′ni?" which means, when translated: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

From Old Testament times, God designed parents to be a childβs first teachers. Joseph and Mary taught Jesus from the scriptures as this was part of their culture. When he was of age and attended school, the scriptures were also the curriculum.
