I am not familiar with the Blackpool tower other than one that is an amusement park attraction. the Eiffel Tower was completed in l889 and was originally 986 feet ( 300 metres) it was the first modern skyscraper in a real sense, and from the start has used American Otis elevators backed by Worthington hydraulics- obviously some re-enginging over the decades. it is the oldest extant skyscraper!
