Eragon removes the sense of pain Elva feels when others around her feel pain although if she choses to she can share another person's pain to lessen it. She guards Nasuada because if Nasuada were to be killed Elva could sacrifice her own life by taking all the pain that would kill Nasuada. Elva can also get visions of the future. Well soon after Eragon,a skinny warrior in the elf army, came across a white dragon egg. He kept it, the egg hatched and so was the first Dragon Rider. which left to the truce of the war, and the bond that began the Dragon Riders.
