No adult Pterodactylus fossils have ever been found. From the many fossils of juveniles that have been found, paleontologists estimate that Pterodactylus had a wingspan of about 5 feet when fully grown. If that is correct, than they were about three to five feet long from the end of the beak to the end of the toes while flying. Pterodactylus had a very short tail which wouldn't have been as long as the legs.
