Our Lord Jesus Commissioned His Apostles to preach the Gospel. He Told them to go out & preach to all the Nations & Baptize then in the Name Of the Father, and Of the Son, and Of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus gave the apostles the task of establishing the Church and spreading the Gospel message.
Jesus chose his disciples after he returned from fasting in the wilderness for 40 days and starting his worldly mission.

Jesus did not have a mission at pentecosst. He is - the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revalation 13.8). The 'mission at pentecost', i think refers to the revelation of the Holy Spitit, which Jesus sent as a Comforter to his disciples.

Jesus didn't give the commandments to his disciples. God gave the commandments to Moses this is recorded in the Old Testament. Jesus did tell his disciples that basically there are only two commandments: 1. Love the LORD your God. 2. Love your neighbour as yourself.
He assured them that he would send a helper to them, after he has gone, the helper is the holy ghost.
They all faithly remained Jesus disciples after his death.
