After he was shot, Lincoln never regained consciousness. His last words would have been something said in the theater box and don't appear to have been noteworthy enough to have been remembered. His last words may have been "She won't think anything about it" - this was in reply to his wife's question ... "What will Miss Harris think of my hanging on to you so?" This exchange took place in their theatre box just prior to Booth's entering.
