What were US ration coupons numbered 19 20and 22 used to purchase?
I'm assuming you are talking about War Ration Book One since the same coupons are still intact in my book. My research has shown that they were each for 1 pound of coffee and were valid for 5 weeks.

A Rational Number is, by definition, a number formed by the ratio of two numbers. one-half is 1/2 and is a rational number, and a 1/4-pounder is a common burger offering. 3 1/4% may be the interest paid by your bank.

The answer to your question begins with a question to you. How do you know what number you are interested in ? How is it specified ? If the number is written down as a decimal, it must have a finite number of digits. This would make it a rational number. If it is written down as a fraction, that al…so is rational. If the number is specified as a procedure, that may or may not be rational. You make the determination using your head for logical thought - something calculators can't do. So, the short answer to your question is : no, except for a few very special cases, most of which are susceptible to logical analysis anyway. (MORE)
No, in fact unless an integer has an integral square root, the square root is always irrational. Note that some rational fractions can have rational square roots, though. Example: sqrt(4/9) = sqrt(4)/sqrt(9) = 2/3, which is rational. Or sqrt(9/16) = 3/4
rationing coupons were copons used during world war 1 and 2. they were used so that everone would get their fair share.also because we were in short supply so the government said we have an amount of things u can buy
Yes. A rational number is defined as any integer divided by any (nonzero) integer, so 22/7 is rational. You're probably asking because some people say that Pi is equal to 22/7 (I also remember being told this once as a kid). This is false. The constant Pi is an irrational number, which means that… it cannot be expressed exactly as one integer divided by another integer, or as a finite decimal expansion. 22/7 is a close approximation of Pi, to about three digits, but it does not equal Pi. because the # line shows the rational #'s in order from least to greatest .
In times of scarcity, a command economy can use rationing, but then, it could be argued that any time rationing is used, that is a form of command economy. In better economic circumstances, command economies just use money. Since a command economy controls how much money everybody has, money then se…rves almost the same function as a ration coupon. When you are shopping and find a deal on 12 packs of cola advertised at 4 packs for $10. If you don't want to buy all four packs, you find the price of a single pack ($10/4packs = $2.50 per pack) or if you're throwing a party and need 16 packs you find the total cost ($10*4=$40 per 16 packs = 4 grou…ps of 4 packs). You are using rational numbers. Taking it a step further... If all you have is $20, how many 12 packs can you buy? Is how we use algebra in everyday life. They can be used to purchase smartphones on Flipkart. But you willhave to pay the remaining amount by credit, debit card or netbanking
Yes because all fractions are rational numbers whereas irrational numbers can't be expressed as fractions.
Whenever you have quantities or measurements in two opposing directions, you can label one of them as positive, the other as negative. One clear example is money - you can have money (positive), or you can owe money (negative). Your amount of money in a given month can increase (positive), or it can… decrease (a "negative increase"). Another example is altitude above sea level - when you are BELOW sea level, you can use a negative number to express your "altitude above sea level". As to "rational" - most countries use a main currency (for example, U.S. dollar) and a fractional part thereof (for example, cents). Similarly, the altitude above sea levels is usually expressed in meters; but you can express smaller increments in fractions or decimals. (MORE)
The idea is to look for a rational number that is close to the desired irrational number. You can find rational numbers that are as close as you want - for example, by calculating more decimal digits.

A rational number is a number written in the form of one wholenumber over another whole number (not_zero); this is the form of afraction. A fraction is the same as the numerator (top number) divided by thedenominator (the bottom number). If the denominator is 1, then all that is left after the div…isionis the whole number numerator, for example: 15/1 = 15 ÷ 1 = 15 All whole numbers are equivalent to fractions with a denominator of1. All fractions are rational numbers. Thus all whole numbers are rational numbers. (MORE)
