∙ 13y agoIt wouldn't have mattered. After George Dewey got through destroying the Fleet at Manila Bay the previous strategy was junk. The shore batteries were junk. The Fleet was junk at the bottom of the Bay. The Spanish Army was stuck without transportation and Naval gunfire and could be left where it was, for the time being it was junk resting on the beach.
