i own model 59 410 bolt recived as a kid in 1954 but do not know exact year of manufacture
There was an article in Shotgun Sports sometime ago entitled "Grand Old Shotguns". It covers all the models of the Stevens bolt actions. I just found this article that my brother-in-law had given to me years ago (since he had given me a Model 59 earlier). The article goes on to say that the Model 59 .410 was first made in 1934. The article is by David March. From what I can determine, the article appeared in 1990. If you are unable to find a copy of this article and would like it, I can fax it to you.
